Mission, Vision and Purpose

Mission

We believe the resources of the diaspora need to be mobilised efficiently towards areas of high productivity that can support African development. We believe it is also important for diaspora resources to be focused on a particular country because if we are successful in transforming that country, it could serve as a beacon of hope to other African nations.

Our mission is to make Ghana the focus of diaspora engagement in Africa because we believe Ghana presents favourable economic, social, and political conditions necessary for significant transformational development. The hope is for Ghana to serve as the blueprint for the rest of African nations to follow.

Vision

TGR Africa is guided by the Great Return philosophy. We believe the African diaspora can play a significant role in the development of Africa. We believe the diaspora possesses the skills, expertise, and financial capital needed to support African development. Our long-term vision is for the African diaspora to be mobilised into a collective economic unit that can play a significant role in the affairs of African nations.

African development from our perspective is all about creating an Africa that is economically self-sufficient, an Africa that has its own unique identity, and an Africa that is respected on the international scene.

We also want to make Africa a desirable place to live so that local Africans do not feel the need to migrate to foreign lands in search of economic opportunities, and for Africa to become such a desirable place to live that even those in the diaspora would want to return.

Purpose

At TGR Africa, our purpose is to remove some of the key barriers that prevent the African diaspora from being able to invest in Africa. We believe our advisory services will make it easier for more people in the diaspora to feel confident about returning home and setting up successful enterprises.

We also aim to make it easier for the diaspora to access investment vehicles that make investing in Africa safer. We view ourselves as part of the diaspora support services.

Our primary focus is to help facilitate engagement between the African diaspora and Africa at both business and investment levels. We believe these two key areas offer the best solution for sustainable long-term development in Africa.
